Honestly, I think this is one of those times a great image and perspective goes wrong.

I would have prefered the dogs eyes open, lighting or fill in light on hih near side... etc..

They're so beautiful, and they look so soft! Very nice focus!

Must disagree with Almost Human, I like the calmness and balance in this shot. Great & wrong are two words that do not go well together. But thanks for your honest opinion.

Sorry for that, I was simply refering to the execution of the image regarding lighting,(nearside fur) background (dogs lead) timing (Dogs eyes).

I agree with audentia, they are soft due mainly to a lack of D.O.F. caused by the wrong choice of apature.

No problem Almost Human, I see what you mean. But was going for something else in this picture. I disagree in that the picture has gone wrong,
- regarding the DOF ; its is small, but does not lack it. Timing the front dog is resting (well both are), and the other is alert - and a part of the background. But the main subject is the front dog where the (I think) DOF is just right.

Well then it is perfect...
My only crit is you didnt slip the dog in the background a sleeping tablet lol

I like this photo Gert. The second dog in the background adds an interesting element. This dog has just the right blur and creates an attractive composition. I also like the highlighted fur on the dog in the foreground.
